My work focuses on the (often nonconscious) role that adaptive psychological mechanisms play on social cognitive and decision-making outcomes. My current primary focus involves the psychological impact of situational cues to infectious disease, individual sensitivities to disease threat, and immune system factors regulating disease vulnerability in a wide variety of settings. Other research topics include self-control, romantic relationships, embodiment, and evolutionarily-inspired mental mechanisms.
